Anyone around this joint know a decent source for the abovementioned goodies?

Trying to find anything but .32 RB is a pain.

Cheers

.............If it's for a 30 cal and you're just wanting a real light slug you can get the Lyman 311252. It's intended for the 32 ACP and mine drop at .314" and weight the designed 77grs with WW alloy.

Dixie Gun Works. But you may have to go with one of those small brass moulds. I haven't looked lately, but typically not lot of change there.

MD Mayo--

Welcome to the board, sir. I have nosed around for a similar mold or boolit, and have been unable to locate anything of that nature. The 32 centerfire options are all about .010'-.015" too small in diameter to work. Something like that could be paper-patched, I suppose. The 1:48" rifling twist in my Traditions Crockett might get along well with something like the T/C Maxi Ball properly dimensioned, but truth to tell the PRB's do so well downrange that I sorta let the whole idea slide.

Deputy Al,

Not my TC 32 bullet, remember my first mould has the fat ones. What's a bullet have to be for 32 muzzleloader? I probably got the bullet.

My barrel is .322" across the lands, so a conical is ideally supposed to be at that diameter and cast of unalloyed lead. I think the problem with a CF bullet used this way will be lube capacity--the conicals need quite a bit more lube to keep fouling soft than CF lube grooves provide room for.

Thompson-Center did make 36 caliber Maxi Balls, I have seen a couple yellow plastic boxes containing same. My idea was to just down-size that bullet to fit the 32 caliber bore. Like I said, the rifle's PRB performance kinda makes that moot for me at this point.

Thanks all for the responses so far, and the welcome! Having got the PRBs out today, I am RATHER impressed with this little .32 Traditions deerslayer. It seems solid enough, shot 1.35in groups at 25yd out of the box, and 1.6in at 50yd using 45gr/.311 PRB over 15gr Fffg 777/#11 caps. I think its gonna be a fine squirrel getter, and will be nice to teach the kiddo to shoot with.

All that being said, I'd still love to find a mold, or source on a conical or ball-et. Ball moulds are easily enough come by, but I have yet to come across a mould for either of the latter.

THE SEARCH GOES ON!

MD Mayo--

I imagine that Mountain Molds could make one up, take a look at Dan's site and try a 30 or 32 caliber size. He's out of production currently during a re-location, and is supposed to be back up and running in August.

NEI Handtools might have a design like this--I didn't look there.

I don't see the 32 Traditions Crockett as a deer gun at all--the conical might enable coyotes to be taken, but that would be the upper end of critter size with that caliber. The PRB whacks jackrabbits right proper out to 55 yards (my longest shot to date), and I treat it a lot like a 22 LR that hits harder at close range.

Nope, NEI doesn't list anything in that size that's short/small. Closest I see is a #97 which is a .330-116-BB. That said you might try http//www.bigboreairguns.com, they say they will desing any size from small to big bore bullet molds. Other than advertising in the NEI Handtools catalog, I know nothing of them.

Lyman 32362, maybe?

Think that is what a cousin by marriage shot in his Nambu collection.

I have a .32/48 twist caplock. .32 hornady bulk buckshot(0 buck) is a bit tight loading with a .010 precut patch, but still ok for a shortstarter. It is tight with the .005 patch too. Lee's tumble lube design swc in .32 works very nicely when paper patched. But even better are Hornady bulk .32 double-ended wadcutters loaded with a .005 precut patch. The shooting can be done in my gun with either 15 or 30 grains, 3f, my pet loads for squirrels or maybe something bigger at 0 to 60 yards, using the combinations above. The 30 grain load is very powerful, think .32-20+ level. If you hunt much, fired .38 special cases make good quick loaders, with a charge of powder and a ball held in the case mouth by a patch. Good shooting, BvT

Found some buffalo ball-ets on Thunder Ridge (oh noes!, they are for sale!), as well as on Dixie Gun Works site, odd I didn't see them there before ( I did look).

Thanks for all the super suggestions!
