Talk about rising prices of raw materials....
I bought a new stock trailer today and the dealer had 7 of the model trailer I purchased on hand....
The difference in price was by date of manufacture....all 7 of the trailers were identical....
Jan. 05 $11.899.00
Mar. 05 $12.236.00
Nov. 05 $12,666.00
Jan. 06 $13,144.00
Apr. 06 $13,597.00 had 3 of this date.....
The Salesman said they were all the same base price from the factory with SURCHARGES added by the manufacturer for the steaply rising cost of the aluminum.....if copper and lead are rising this fast our primers and gaschecks are gonna go thru the roof......maybe I aughta have stocked up on my raw materials instead a gettin' a new ride fer the livestock....

Hey,12-2 w/g romex wire just went up to a 100 bucks for 250 ft here. 1/2 copper pipe is 13.00 a stick [10'] Buddy that owns a hardware store said his cost on soft copper 1 1/4 service entry pipe went to 360.00 for a 60" roll. One guy I know bought all the romex he could get fron a small lumber yard that had not keep up with the price increases. They were P.O. when they had to replace that stock.
Stock up now if you can find it cheep. It is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.Between the price increases and the intrest rate going up we will be back in a recession soon I bet.

The Chinese need all the raw materials they can get their hands on. They have tons of USD that they cannot get rid of without totally flooding the American economy, the largest retail market in the world. A genuine catch 22 situation. Damed if they do, damned if they don't, on both sides of the world. In computer terminology, we call this a "deadly embrace" situation. It happened before back in 1974. ... felix

You'd think that as big as China is, they could/would discover/develop alot more natural resources internally. Of course, that could cost more and take longer than getting it on the world market. I wonder what price the dolla-ninety-nine per string of semi-disposable Christmas lights will cost this year? I suppose I should go out to my burn pile and recover those several strings that are now a kinda greenish and throw them in my 'precious' metals recycle bin. sundog
