Try Mark Whyte. He is a member here, and goes by the name of Springfield.

I'm a big fan of Simply Rugged and other custom makers, but decided to go back to basics with a plain-jane Hunter Model 1100. All of about $35.00...............

Anything that will fit a Model N should work.

I just received my Simply Rugged holster for a 4" 45 Colt Redhawk. I recommend you get one!
I got the Sourdough pancake. Took less than 2 weeks to get here.

What do you think of the 4" 45 redhawk? We have one in our shop but it has those funky rubber grips. I prefer the original wood Redhawk grips.
I have considered putting my brand on that short 45 though.

The very 1st thing I did when I bought the 4" 45 Redhawk was take those condom grips off and put some new oldstock wood grips on it. I LOVE this gun! I haven't found a boolit it doesn't like. I shoot the Lee 255gr rnfp, RCBS 255-45, NEI 310gr Keith, Lee 200gr H&G68 clone, and H&G118 through it. It handles even the heaviest loadings well, my business load is that NEI 310-452 with 24gr H110 and a mag primer. To put it simply,
Buy one!

I use this weird green stuff called speed green for lube, it works really good too, you might want to buy some of that too :)

For the heavier revolvers I've started to like the Bianchi Hush system. It makes carrying the weight much more comfortable, and can easily be worn over, or under heavy clothing. With parkas in the winter it helps keep the gun dry, and still readily available.

Thanks guys.
I am looking at all your suggestions here and will research the members products. I have grown very fond of this revolver and would like to make it more practical to take along. Ya gotta love this place ;)

For a field holster for my 4" S&W N frame I use an old Don Hume duty holster. It works wonderfully as a field holster.

Fivegunner, how does the 200AW ride on the belt--is it a paddle holster, or a normal belt holster (ie, has a slot you feed your belt through)? The info Milt Sparks has on their web site doesn't say.

Mike, it go`s on the belt, I pay the extra to get the holster Lined and I also use a thick lined Milt Sparks belt 1 3/4 . the 6in Freedom arm 454 is the longest barrel that I use in the 200aw, 5 1/2 rugers work very well ( you can sit down ) with out hiting the holster on anything but is not for CCW unless you where a coat over the gun. what I like about them is they are tought, and when they are ajusted right no one can get the gun out of the holster but you. I own 10 of them , the smallest is for a S&W 34-63 . 22. the bigest a Freedom arms 475 Linbaugh. there is a reson Milt Sparks is 30 to 40 weeks out to buy a holster.:lovebooli
