tc pistol question

does anyone know if tc makes a 50 s&w for the pistol. i was looking and cant seem to find one out there. thanks

Weather it is realy avabile is hard to tell .

Midway has the carbine barrel in 500 S&W. You could always cut it back to 16 1/2 inches (or what ever the legal length of a rifle barrel is) and have a barrel that would work for both a rifle or a pistol.

Just a thought.

Their custom shop, Fox Ridge, will do them if you can't get one the regular way. You could also have one made by Bulberry or ottllc. I think I'd prefer it in a rifle.

I don't know if you want Contender barrel or Encore. I know they make the .45-70 barrels for Contenders, don't know about the .500 S&W, but here's a link to their custom shop:

Near as I can tell, they don't make any .50 cal for either gun, but they do offer the .480 Ruger in the Encore. The puny little .44 Magnum is more gun than I'd want to shoot with one hand, I can't even imagine shooting the .45-70, .480 Ruger, or .500 S&W in a pistol!

Scrounger .... I met a guy at the local range that had a 500 S&W and a 32 Ford. I first asked if I could look at the car. It was a beautiful thing to see. He said it took him 8 years to restore. Then I asked about the revolver (howitzer) on his hip. He handed it to me and after checking it out he offered to let me shoot it. I shot 5 rounds at 25 yards off sand bags and he said I shot it better than he could. It was about an inch and a half group. For a few weeks I thought about buying one. The accuracy was good and the recoil was quite manageable if you have ever shot 300 grain cast at 1250 FPS from a 5 1/2 inch ruger 44 Mag. I question why I need another caliber and more dies and molds. I think the 44 Mag will take care of anything I have to take care of. However .......... If I was about 20 years younger and still had all them tetrisonies running around I would definately have a 500 S&W.

Yes TC offers the 500 S&W in the Encore. The 500 is too much for the contender. Midway has 500 Smith pistol barrels in Blue and SS. They also offer a 20 barrel. Here are the links.
