I cast mt first boolits saturday,lube,sized and lubed again.Loaded and shot 20 non water drop,30 water drop.They shot great,but barrel was moderately leaded up.40cal XD,175tc,5.6grn #5.Pulled 1 to make sure loading was not under sizing bullet.They measure .4015.straight lee alox.Should I have waited the 1 week,another post says the will grow .001 after sitting?

I'll bet that the WD'ed caused the leading, there to hard!!

Agree with WILCO, waite the week or 2 is even better before sizing.

I've shot the same day as casting before with no problems. I think that the water dropping was your problem, assuming that your boolits are sized for your barrel correctly. If I were in your position, I would try shooting 20 air cooled by themselves & see what the barrel looks like. Also, did you slug your barrel? If so, what was your groove diameter?

I slugged the barrel tonight and the bore shows to be.398 inside the rifling,.401 outside.My sizing die is .4015 ish.I pulled another round and loosened up on the seating die.I'll try again this weekend and see what happens.This time waiting 1 week to season my boolits.

If your pulled boolit measures at .4015" or bigger, than your size is probably OK. Can you post pictures of the sized & lubed boolits before you load them?

8-)Shoot some (100rnds) today with GREAT results,just barely a sign of lead.Cleaned up was a snap.I think I'll load some more.Can't have enough ya know!;-)
