are they all peices of you know what?

i bought one a few months ago, after a couple uses the needle started "sticking" at the highest point till it was tapped.
i bought a new one shortly after it broke. now this one wont read steady.
i had around 100lbs of lead in my smelting pot, every time i took it out and put it back in it would read a different temp, ranging from 200-800.

i know that 100lbs of lead cant change temperatures so fast.

I bought mine about 2 years ago. It seems to work fine.

No complaints here, other than it cannot be adjusted,no screw for that.

Mine seems to work OK, just about 30° under the temps that I measured with two different thermocouples. Still a good reference since it is consistently 30° off. It was sticky in spots at first but then it got to working OK after a few sessions.

I've had two of them. The first one worked for the first casting sesson then quit. The replacement did pretty much the same thing yours is doing. I now use the PID I installed on my casting pot and a cheap digital thermometer to get temperatures for the smelting pot.
