Just found the board and joined up today. I am an avid trapper, traditional bow-hunter, fly fisherman and deer hunter from Downeast Maine. I am fairly new to cast bullets and have shot them in my two handguns, a Ruger Blackhawk Hunter in 44 mag and a Ruger Bisley converted to 475 Linebaugh with great results. The deer never knew what hit them and you could eat right up to the edge of the bullet hole!

I am looking forward to learning more about reloading and shooting cast bullets for my 350 Remington.

Welcome........you are in good company and there are many here with years and years of experience and knowledge that can be passed on to a beginner or to the veteran caster; seems as if I learn something new every week while here. A great community of people on this forum!!!

Welcome, TR. This is a great forum - believe all - well, MOST of what you read here. And the only poor question is the one you don't ask.

Welcome Trappererick! So what kind of bow do you use? My area host an annual tradition bow shoot each spring. Everything you ever wanted to know about casting is right here.

Trapperrick, sounds like you are already doing okay with your cast boolits. There's a good bunch of folks here. Enjoy. I lived in Belgrade Lakes in early sixties. Does that count for anything, eh?

Welcome! I was born in Waterville and grew up in Palmyra until I was 12. Bangor was were we did our Christmas shopping. Sears was downtown, then.

Glad to see another Mainer. I see you have an interest in 35 caliber rifles. I cast for a 35 Whelen myself as well as for every other caliber I shoot.

Bangor was were we did our christmas shopping as well, or went to the movies, or the chevy dealer. 75 miles is a fur piece in January.

Welcome trappererick:
I'm not from Maine but know some fine maineiacs here in southern Missouri. They have been here quite a while and still talk that special way. You'll find that there is nothin here not to like if your like most and from what I see you are. Did that make sense? Enjoy the best site on the web.

Hey Ray,
Say Hi to Don or any of those guys you run into. I thought I was heading back up home after the NY job, but as it turns out there's not much work up there, and we got our house back in SC. After a year the buyers couldn't settle the mortgage.
The current job on Hilton head will run to march 2011 or thereabouts. In this economy I'm going where the work is for now.

Welcome aboard!!! I'm always happy to see a 35 shooter no matter what cartridge. [smilie=w: I've not had much experience with the 350 but I'd guess there are plenty here that can assist you with some loads and boolit choices.
