I have a friend looking for a mold for a bullet. I looked at it and thought it was a swedged bullet. It's for a .50cal muzzleloader. He called it the great plains bullet. He wants a mold so he can cast his own. Is it possible to have a hollow point and hollow base in the same mold? Here's a pic of the boolit. Is there one with a hollow base and a flat point? He said he could drill the hollow point if he could find a mold in that design.

That appears to be a swaged bullet. Others on this forum can and no doubt will answer the rest of your question.

hard to cast both ends in hollow.
i'd look at a real boolit from lee for a close design.

The R.E.A.L. from Lee will come the closest.
Most versitile also.
I have fire lapped with the Lee mold.

That is the (swaged) Hornady Great Plains .45cal 285grain HBHP.
