Checked my winged musket cap supply and I am down to 30 caps.
Local dealer has none --only #11and #10. The last time I got them
they were Dynamit noble made by rws I think. $8.50 for a tin of 250.
I know the prices have gone up but I hate to pay 14 or 15 bucks a huned plus hazzy matty fee. What's a guy to do. Plus I am having trouble even finding them.
This is for my white 504 U-Mag. I shoot conicals only with pyro -P.
I can use 209's but they are a little hot,Ialso have a #11 nipple but I am not sure about them. Annnnd I can use the vari flame 209 adaptors with small rifle or pistol primers.
I wanted the musket caps.

Give the #11s a try. I've used them for years with no problems.

Just what we need, an inline flinter.
Bohemian in-line flintlock action by Stanislaus Paczelt, 1738. All flintlock parts are contained within the enclosed action behind the barrel. The touch-hole fires through the breech plug in classic in-line fashion.

This is worse than Colts famous disappearing rear sight The frizzen blocks the sights when you pull the trigger.

Sory guy's I didn't know I was in the wrong forum. Just thought all the inliners only talk 209 ignition, and this would be the place for musket cap questions.

Not in the wrong forum...it just happens that no one has the answer yet apparently. It looks like most fellas here shoot standard caps if they use caps. Everything I have uses #11's so I am no help.

The hardware where i get a few things from time to time has some musket caps, but I was not paying attention to the price. Where you at?

The big caps are great for cold fingers, but try the CCI #11's.- they seem a little hot enough when I shot pryodex. I used to have some red tubing to hold a small pistol/rifle primer on the nipple. Must not have worked that good.

I got them at Sportsman's a few times.

I live in Maine, Some of the places you folks mention seem to want to sell by the 1000 only.
Plus hazzy mat of course. Or 14 bucks a huned plus the has mat fee. I do have the option for the #11 or a 209 with the small rifle or small pistol primer. The vari flame is a solid brass piece that looks exactly like a 209 cap.. you insert a spp or a srp and they are reusable.
I have no problem with the #11"s. I just thought a little hotter flame would be better.
Perhaps I should try black and get away from the pyro p. Cept that is what was recommended.
I do have a couple huned of the #11Mag. caps CCI I think.
