i have some norma 6.5 139 gr fmjbt bullets.(some is 10 boxes of 100)

the appear to have a cu/ni jacket.
the norma part number is 512.

the question is what is the jacket ?

not quite a silver color, with a bit of lite yellow in it...

thanks

just a stab here but i think they are their old oryx bullets.
I have some of their older factory stuff with the same looking bullets in them.
and thats what they called them.they look like old cupro nickel rounds.
but were designed as a hunting round, they seemed to perform like the rem corelokts.

I don't think those are the old Oryx, Mike said they're full metal jacket boat-tails. I think I recall seeing some a few years ago and they looked about 1-1/2" long and very slippery ballisticly. I think they were made for the 6.5 Swede for match shooting. Jackets might be plated steel.

well not quite 1.5,,,,1.28

they may be plated steel....guess i will have to destroy one to find out(i'll scratch off some boat tail material)

thats what the jacket on the oryx looked like also, except they had a bit of lead exposed to the nose.
those look like extremely high b.c. bullets.
love to try some of them.

That bullet I posted there is a nickel/steel jacket made for snipers. The reason that composition was because it left no copper fouling in the bore.

Sorry, I don't have those. I got that off a guy who is selling them on Gunbroker.com. I seen your post and was on Gunbroker and ran across it. Sounded like what you have so I posted it here.

from norma's tech guy:

Dear Mike,

The bullet you have is for competition use and is nickel coated steel jacket bullets.

They are now discontinued in our production line but we have 130 gr HPBT types instead,

Made of 95/5 copper alloy.
