Looking for minimum load with Red Dot and either 340 or 325 Plain Base boolit.
Quiet 50 yard practice load in 30" Rolling Block, 14" and 16" Contender.

Any suggestions?

11.1 gr. of RedDot is mild and gives me 2 MOA accuracy out of a Marlin '95 with the RCBS 325 gr.

12 or 13gr of Unique behind the 400gr 45 caliber tumble lube (group buy) does well. (Loaded lube/sized .459 (didn't touch it) and a tuft of dacron) Plinker kick, 400gr of soft lead impact!

9.0 gr Red Dot with a Lee 450gr at 8-9 bhn is a very mild and accurate load in my Rolling Block. Ragged hole groups at 50 at not uncommon and it's fun at 200 yds on a steel Ram as well.

8-10" of penetration in wet clay of my backstop and a cavity about 2-3 inches in diameter. I wonder what kind of velocity I was getting with that load?

Whoa, that may be fun and the perfect thing if the Wild Hog starts rooting up the front yard again.

Too bad that boolit has so LITTLE lube, but then it does seem to be enough 50/50 to work for the ten shots I shot yesterday!

I have to start casting some boolits so I can plink and play the rest of the summer!

Heck one of them has to be ready to meet a Colorado elk in September! ! !
