I've got an RCBS 22-055 two-cav and the new NOE clone 6-cav that I'm getting ready to try. I've got a .222 Rem 700 Classic that I want to build a varmint load with this boolit. I'm looking for favorite powders to try and would like suggestions on charge weight, primers, etc. I'll be using Carnuba Red, and sizing .001 over groove dia. If you can suggest a lube that will stand up to velocities over what's possible with Carnuba Red, I'd like to hear that too.

Thanks,
Jay

I use a case full (about 19gr) 4831. I know it is too slow a powder for 222 and all the other reasons it wont work, but it does for me.

Start at 16 gr of H4895 with a 1/2 gr dacron filler and work up in 1/2 gr increments untill accuracy goes south then tweak the load going .2 gr in either direction. That rifle should have a 14" twist and do very well with cast bullets up into the 22-2400 fps range. I had a couple 24" M788s in .222R that did extremely well with 225415 with the above load.

Jay...10.0 grains of WC820 and the 22-55-SP gives me 2154 FPS out of a M700 HB and good accuracy.

Bator 55 gr. boolit and 17 gr. 3031 works well in my Rem. 722. I liked R-12, but ran out of it.
