The last note I got from Mike was 12/29/09 in which he said Dr`s found an abcess at the stomach band work done on him back in 2008. The Dr`s want him in the hospital NOW.. Said he would get back to me when feeling better. Said he has been sick for awhile leading up to this. I figured after seeing 5 pages of best wishes here I should set the record straight about the illness.Robert

That's interesting Robert as his wife Yvonne told me over the phone exactly what I posted. At any rate I wish him a speedy recovery.

Thankfully with today's surgeons, this procedure can be reversed and most gastric bands can be taken off until the abcess heals or it's repositioned properly. I look forward to hearing the ground truth from Mike V shortly when he gets home from the hospital.

I've known three people to undergo this procedure, and all have been about the same. Complications set in, but recovery follows. Tough times until then, though.

I hope eveything works out alright for him and that he gets over this without further complications.
I have been reading his work for many years and appreciate the fact that he visits this forum.

FWIW Mr. Venturino, I wsih you good health and hope you get to feeling better.
