I don't post much but I do alot of surfen, mostly here where I have learned a lot about casting for CF rifle, I also like to tinker, so here is something that I found that works well and I thought I would pass it along for your thoughts and feed back.

I tried an sperment with my Lee 303 Brit. and 06 Collet neck die sets. Using the 303 collet neck die I sized 7.62X54R, this left the lower half of the neck unsized while sizing the upper half, this makes for a long false shoulder and gave me good a .001-.002 press fit for my .311 boolets that I shoot in my Sako Finn 39 with a .309 thoat. I have some loaded and will report back when I get a chance to shoot them.

Thats 2 of the 3 calibers, 303 and 7.62X54. The 3rd is 7.5X55 Swiss, taking the mandrel out of my 06 collet die and putting it in the 303 I was able to neck size and leave an .04-.05 long false shoulder at the base of the neck while not changing any other case dimensions, I sized 1 case and tried it in both of my K31's and had no problems closing the bolt. I will report back on this one too, when I get a chance to shoot some.

The 06 mandrel will let you load them nasty jacka$$ bullets if you have amind to while the 303 mandrel with the 7.5 swiss gives a .001-.002 press fit for the .310 or .311 cast, course it would work for the 7.62X54 too, might even work for the Krag but I don't have one to try.

Try it if you have the collet dies, then give me some feed back.

I use my Lee .223 Collet Die for .222 and .223, it works just fine for both.

The .308 collet die also works well for 7.62x54r: After setting the case into the shellholder, place a large fender washer (or two for a larger false shoulder) over the case. Fools the die into "thinking" a shorter cartridge is being sized. The washer I use gives about a .010 shoulder.

I suppose a guy could fashion their own custom washer in exactly the desired height.
