Is the "Chat" working for everyone? Anyone like it or dislike it?

I've used it a couple times, and it seems to work ok. Once again, a white background and large print would be a great help. I usually forget to check if anyone is on in the evenings.

I've check in the chat room a few times, but no one is ever there at the times that I can try. Usually around 12 midnight to 2:00 AM EDT. I guess that I,m the only night owl out here.

If you go into the chat you should have an "Options" button. Hit that and hit "Text" and change your font.

Agreed, not meaning to be too harsh but is there a computer guy anywhere who can understand nobody wants to look at tiny light colored letters on a dark background. That will cause me to leave a website quicker than anything.

Go into the chat. Click on options and click on Themes (if not already there) from that point you can change the look of the background to various degrees. You also have the Text option where you can change the text to whatever you want as well

Ok, i've managed to get rid of the deer in the background. According to the buttons I pushed, everything should be hunky dory, white background, black text in Times Roman, size 14. I should be in hog heaven, but when i try test posts, my message doesn't show up. the smileys will pop up. i have all background set white, and all text set black. did i miss something?

When I click the save button, the messages are visible, but not on the flash screen

You got your "Rooms Text" to black? Try changing around the "Rooms Background" and "Rooms Text" to various colors and see what you come up with. It should work.

I've been fiddling with it for the past 20 minutes, and still no joy. i can see my postings now, but not in the black and white i'm shooting for. i can get the background changed ok, but the text remains white no matter what.

Finally got it! I had to click the little box next to options, to chose font color.

Is there a place on the main page that shows who is in chat? I thought there had been, but can't find it now.

I just added a couple rooms to the chat area. One for serious info exchange, should traffic get heavy with the usual BS, and members want a clear area to discuss something. Also, a "G" rated room for those with delicate sensibilities.

Problem is, I click on the new rooms, and they don't open. How you do dat?

I tried out the options menu, got my background, font and all set. However, as usual, no one was there.

Let's try to get on the chat tonight to work out people's bugs with it. Say, 9:00 PM Mountain time?

Now, if I can just remember. I have the attention span of a ferret.

I might not be able to make it. I will try that way I can help with bugs and such as well.

I'd like it if I could figure out how to configure it the way I want it, like I do my IM. And how to keep the configuration from one visit to the next.

Sure hope people are on tonight at 9:P as waksupi suggested.

I believe we made some progress. Preferences were for light background, with bold black font for easy reading. Old fart syndrome. This is just something everyone will have to get set on thier own browser. All in all, it seems participants were having a tendancy to drink beer, and talk smart. An enjoyable exchange. Although, I still think Al really went to pee.

Biggest problem we had was that waksupi's refrigerator is just to dang close to his keyboard![smilie=f:
