Fella's I been pourin' lead for 35 years and I have been surprised a few time but this one takes the cake. I started with 7 gr Unique and worked up to 9 grs. First five shots missed a 2X3 sheet of paper at 50yds. Thought it was the scope so tried some of my 250gr swaged bonded core thumpers ( I smash lead into cylinders too ) and got my usual 3 touching group. I also worked up some Titegroup loads starting with 5gr. First group went into 1 1/2 inch group. 5.5 went into 2 inches. 6.0 started missing the paper again. Seems like this is going to be a low velocity bullet. I'll drag my chrony to the range next time. A couple of questions. Has anyone else tried this bullet and what was your experience ? Any suggestions on powders. I was thinking of Trail Boss. Any thoughts on that one ? BTW the boolits miked .413 and were air cooled WW and 2% tin with LLA lube.

I can't really answer your question but I do use the same boolit unsized at .412 with WW in my Ruger BH with good results. I think the charge is 8.0gr of Unique. My son does have an 1894 in .41 and I will keep an eye out for results like yours when I give it a try. Maybe slightly harder by water dropping will change things or maybe size them down to .412 or .411, just my 2 cents.

My best load with this bullet is 12.4 gr Hercules (old) 2400 with a Magnum primer for about 1300fps in my marlin. The Lee TL Bullets have been the most accurate I have used in my .41 marlin.
