please help me identify this metal. It's marked "National Lead Co" with " 150 on both ends. I can't scratch it with my fingernail. I think it may be plumbers lead. It weighs 1.25lbs per bar. I have a 30/30 shell next to it for comparison. I have a source willing to sell it at $.50 a bar (he has 400 bars). Any idea on the alloy?

It looks to me like some body solder I used to get many years ago BB (Before Bondo).

Melt one, see if it makes boolits.
It might be too much tin.
Its a steal anyway.
Buy them all.

I plan on buying all he has. It seems light to me for the size. I'm assuming it's high in tin which would be nice for alloying

I don't kmow of any low melting temp metal that is worth less than $1.00 per pound and tin is at least $8.00er pound.
You can't get hurt if you can spare the change.

Glock the only way to know the content is either contact the foundry or have a peace analyzed.

Looks like plain old plumbers solder to me. Maybe 60/40. Can’t be sure though. At that price, buy it all and experiment with it.

Most likely Pb/Sn solder. Find the specific gravity and you can calculate the exact % of Sn.
