A couple of days ago a friend called and said Midway had Jameison 500-416 brass for less than fifteen dollars a box, that is about one third the normal price. A quick check revealed they had 140 rounds on hand and my friend bought it all and let me have one hundred rounds of it. While I don't have a 500-416 I do have a 500-450 and am going to build another #1 in 470 both of which can be made from the 500-416. Now I know what I'm getting for Christmas.

I'm not overly fond of Kriegoff doubles and as far as I know they're the only ones that have built rifles in 500-416. For whatever reason the caliber has not caught on with shooters, hence Midway selling off the brass cheap. I guess I could barrel up a #1 for it, but I really don't need another .416 caliber to load for when I have a Rigby.
