Ran into a guy at the show selling LR Winchester primers for $60/1000. Guy RIGHT ACROSS from him and every other dealer in the show was selling at $35/1000 (finally primers!!!)

Usually I don't comment on prices unless it is something I want to buy but I asked him good naturedly "How many of those have you sold today?"

He said in a grouchy voice, "None. Piss off."

Yep, there was one guy who hoarded and gouged, and now is paying for it. Warms my heart to see him so amply rewarded.

Look at Gunbroker.com- primers from some sellers at $35.00/1000 + shipping. And some with "buy it now" at $80.00/1000 + $20.00 Hazmat shipping.

Sux to be a speculator when a bubble breaks, doesn't it? Hope they can learn how to do something usefull with all those primers...

I will remember sellers who didn't try to gouge me down the road.

That is nice! There were folks buying them up who didn't even reload with the express intent to gouge. They are not my shooting sports brethren!!

Local gun store had primers for $30/K but I'm not sure which ones. He didn't have large pistol and I didn't ask about small pistol. Brands were CCI, Magtech, and Winchester.

I am sure the same thing happened to the oil speculators. Serves them right.

since he told you to piss off, you should have accidentally knocked a few thousand of them off of the table onto the floor.

I broke down and went to a gun show out in the south/western part of the state. Had an old shooting buddy with me, and as we were strolling the tables, we saw a guy selling Wolf small pistol primers for, get this, $75/1000. All around us, sellers were getting anywhere from $35 to $50 for a brick of primers. All this guy had was primers. No bullets, no brass, no guns--just primers.

How much does anyone want to bet this alpha hotel was one of the ones buying everything in sight as fast as he could a year ago?

My buddy stopped at the guy's table and reached into his pocket. The seller jumped up, stupidly thinking he was about to fleece us.

Instead, my buddy reached in his pocket and took out a handful of ketchup packets he'd gotten from the Sonic Drive-In we ate at. He tosses them on the guy's table and says, "Here you go. Maybe these will help those primers taste better."

I 'bout died laughing.

I was told a local guy was stuck with many thousand of primers that he was trying to sell for $50 - 65 a K
I know he was one of the SOB's that ran around and bought up all he could , just to resell at 2-3X what he payed for them

I wasn't there Monday when he came to the pistol shoot
I guess he was claming he had $45 a K in them
But no one was buying
I now he was offered $15 -20 a K and he stormed out

Hope he chokes on them

OH I think I will offer him $20 a K and see if he will sell

Just love the gouger's getting their just deserts. Guess the same will be happening to all those who went nuts buying up all the ammo. Should be interesting. Frank

There's a SoCal chain called Turner's, they ran out like everyone else- but all throughout, at least as far as my local Turner's, when they get 'em they sell 'em for $30/k. In contrast, there's a shop in Indio called Jernigan's Yellow Mart. They've had them available more often than even most online reatailers, and selling them for $45-$50/k. Even now, when Turner's has had primers in stock every time I've been there for the last 3 weeks, Yellow Mart is still gouging. Granted they're not gouging as much as some of those gunbroker guys.

I think the O-bortion is going to get the rug yanked out from under him next year. Even many of the mentally-disconnected fools that were taught to hate Bush by our rabid fascist media are beginning to wake up, at least somewhat.

But I agree that a lot depends on what actually happens in the polls next go-round. Either we vote in some checks-and-balances to counteract the machine which has run amok in Washington, or we let the "change" continue on it's current rocket-sled to Hades until we are all broke and people are rioting in the streets for food.

Misplaced political rant aside, I absolutely LOVE IT when true justice prevails. Helps make up for all the times some jerk gets away with, well, being what he is.

Local shop has 'em 2 rows deep and stacked up to the next shelf! About 30 a thou.

I hate to tell you boys but you have been part of big history. You have been the last Americans to vote. That's right. There will be no more elections. Don't you all get what is going on? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they are fixing this country for a dictatorship, for socialism. The health care plan is the final nail in the coffin to seal it. Why do you thing the great black impostor is pushing so hard for this to pass?

Seriously Joe, probably good to keep that stuff in the Political section of off topic.

No need to derail this thread.

My fault I'm afraid, Spielberg...sorry :) I might have touched it off with my prediction of a possible recurrence of hoarding. I'll go clean that up.

Spielberg

Ah you know how it is, I am heavily involved in politics and come to this site to get AWAY from politics. Nice to keep it confined.

Anyway, I had a guy try to sell me 9mm for $400 per K before I reloaded. I laughed in his face and left.
