I have always wanted a Lyman 358429 mold for my S & W 686. However the gun I really want a mold for now is my Ruger Blackhawk in .41 magnum. Does anyone know of a similar mold for the .41?

Funds are tight now since we just replaced my wife's car as the result of an accident, so this will probably be for future reference. Still it would be nice to have a particular mold in mind in case I run across one. Thanks for your input.

I just looked and Lyman doesn't even carry a .41 Mag bullet mould any more. First they dropped the Keith 452424 four cavity moulds, now they drop ALL of the .41 mag moulds. Guess they are on the way out...

At any rate, first I would check with our very own Mihec and NOE and see if they have any pending moulds that would suit. Then, you can check out RCBS .41 210 SWC mould. It is a Keith style and should work well for you. It will be a two cavity mould.

You just may be in luck! Look here and if this bullet mould design catches your fancy, you may be able to get on board. He is already running these and they are a DANDY for the .41 Magnum. I have a MiHec six cavity mould (solid point) for the .44 Special/Magnum and it is a WONDERFUL bullet mould. I also have a Cramer style hollow point two cavity ordered for my .44 Special/Magnum.

Send MiHec an immediate Private Message and see if you can still get on the band wagon:

Good luck!

Here is a "late entry" (I just about missed this one). NOE is running a group buy on a Keith style bullet mould:

You will find the NOE's quality is up there with the best, also. Here again, you will have to order NOW as the buy is about to close:

Again, good luck!

Or if you can find a Lyman 410459 mold, it's very good.

Thanks. I would love to get in on the group buy, but like I said, cash is in short supply right now. Between a Buick and a Ruger Blackhawk, we are tapped out, but I may try and look for the Lyman mold at gun shows etc., in the future. Thanks again.

H&G #258 is the Keith design for the 41 Magnum, Keith wasn't talking to Lyman by the time the 41 Magnum came out.
Lymans version is the 410459, NEI #221 is as close to Keith's designs as the Lyman version.
Any of these molds might show up at a gun show or swap meet, and there have also been at least one group buy of Lee 6-cavity molds in a design very close to a Keith design.

Good morning
The 220's (Rcbs Lyman Lee) all shoot well and will harvest any deer out there.
The lighter ones I shoot cans & cayotes with.
Lee makes a 240 SWC that works well in my Rugers...
There is a 265 Plain base about you may find for sale. This is about the real practicle Heavy weight. There are bigger but the short Ruger chambers do not allow much powder space Like the Dan Wesson. A Gas check version is REAL nice in a Marlin carbine.
Merry Christmas !!

Great information. Gives me an excuse to get off my rear and go to a gun show. Not much chance of finding this stuff but who knows? Sometimes the looking is half the fun. Anyone ever find a good boolit mold on Craigslist?

Merry Christ-mass to all!

I have the 413-220 SWC, that was the original 45 2.1 designed GB boolit, on my Pistol Bullet Designs page. You can order one at any time. I also have two other 41 designs listed and will soon be offering a 412640 design as well.

For a really tight budget you might look at the Lee.

Exile: I have a .41 Mag. boolit mould - # 410610, a double cavity, gas check (no handles), in orange box. Excellent condition, used very little. Interested in anything for a Star lubrisizer (like .225 sizer die, boolit mould for .223, etc). Also have reloading dies, etc., plus a gaggle of .41 Mag. Remington brass. 'Tuck

You might want to take a look at the Saeco molds. I have the 220gr, Truncated Cone and it is very accurate.
Probably not the best hunting bullet, but I have the Lyman gas-checked SWC for that.
I tried some 265gr, LFN from Cast Performance bullets and the accuracy was not there. I hear the 250 WFN is better.
Veral Smith (LBT) has some very good molds.
