I've got a truncated cone .401 mold for pistol that throws slightly out of round boolits; ~.002" narrower at the parting line. I've noticed that when sizing these through a Lyman lubrisizer, the out of roundness causes an uneven line where the nose of the boolit begins to taper.

If these boolits were sized nose first as in a Lee sizer, the out of round wouldn't result in an irregular taper line on the nose. I'm wondering if the nose first operation would improve accuracy in the case of an out of round booit. Any thoughts?

Most likely I'll end up getting a Lee sizer and testing it myself, but thought that others may have already traveled this road.

Thanks for any input.
