True Story...
An old boolit caster friend of mine about 20 years back...
I visited him and he says a guy (complete stranger) woke him up one night by hitting him in the face with a rifle butt. At which time he reached under the bed and grabbed his S/A .45 revolver and very quickly there was a deceased home invader.
Hands me a boolit (if I remember right, it was a heavy Keith) that had passed thru the deceased and says 'This slug didn't expand enough - I'm going to a softer alloy'.
Some people you just don't want to mess with.

But it did end the fight--

.380's--9MM's--38's---and 357's --might get bigger--but a 45 ain't gettin smaller.

Everyone I've ever talked to has told me to shoot and hunt with anything I want, but only carry factory loads for self defense. Basically prevents some DA or scumbag attorney for the perp from saying something like 'He was using ammo that he made to kill and maim people with'. What is the consesus on carrying reloads and cast stuff here?

There have been pages of discussion about that in this forum over the past week. No need to rehash it all.
