I got a deal on 2000 hornady .45 caliber gaschecks and went on the hornady site to check the part number to see if they are .454 pistol or .458 rifle and found that they only have one style of 45 check. So my question is are these made to use on both rifle and pistol??? i'm hoping that they will work on .458 rifle boolit shanks because i load for the 45/70 but don't have a .45 caliber handgun.

Thanks, Joe

I've used them on my RD .460-425gr ok, havent tried .45 colt as I don't have a mold yet.
I have a Marlin in 45-70

One size "fits" all. I've used them on .45-70 boolits, but I don't have a GC .45 handgun mould. They worked properly on the rifle boolits.

If they're sized for rifle, it's only a small amount of draw (it's a drawing process, not a swaging process) to size them down to .452-3 for handgun. No problems.
