Roughly 2500 9mm boolits. I've got these things coming out my ears!

Just doing a rough conversion, I have 310,000 grains of bullets, equal to 44 pounds. Whew.

I know you guys have cast a heck of a lot more, but having just started last week with a two holer, it amazes me how quickly a Lee Production pot and proper casting technique can crank these suckers out. Last night I sat there for three hours and cast 700 boolits. Now I'm out of ingots and need to make a run to the recylcer.:D

If your recycler has WW's get all you can now. Congrats on entering the hobby. You will really enjoy shooting your own bullets.

Lee two cavity molds are all I have and I have coffee cans full of all kinds of boolits. I have enough cast already that I probably won't have to cast any more for quite a while. But this winter I will get bored so out comes the molds and pot for some more fun.

Today I got my largest haul of WWs in quite a while . 200 lbs for $20.

Like Chris in VA I used to figure how many boolits I could get out of 100lbs of WWs. Then I decided that if I get molds for light for caliber boolits I can get hundreds more out of the same 100lbs. It will stretch my WW supply much further. Light boolits for paper and plinking and heavy boolits for hunting or long range rock busting.

Welcome to the hobby. Depending on your shooting, 2500 boolits will last you a while. There's not much more satisfying than sende your own cast down range.

I cast with 3 3-cav molds simoultanoiusly (I hate spelling that word), and crank out something like 2000 boolits in 3-4 hours! I haven't been casting for a month now I think... but man I sure miss it.

I'll stand and cast about 10 lbs. at a time. .357 120 gr. rn. 2 cav. Lyman mold, or .357 158 gr. swc 6 cav. Lee mold.
I ordered a 2 cav. .356 90 gr. rn. Lee mold for .380 and a 2 cav. .356 124 gr. rn. Lee mold for 9m. That will keep me busy for a while getting that stock up in size.
Pondering a bit. Could the .357 120 gr. rn. after sizing, be sized to the .356?

I remember when I thought "If I can just get one 5 gallon bucket of WWs I'll be set for life!". Not I got nearly a ton I feel like I don't have much alloy at all. :(

Whatever you have does not feel like so much when we know that the supply may dry up.
All this anti-lead movement just chafes my buns. I aleady brike the rule of panic that states:
If you are going to panic, be the first.

I should have bought a ton of lead when it fell back to 50 cents a pound and scrapyards were selling @ $0.40 per pound. now the market spot is $1.11 and scrap is being bought for $0.55 or more. I bet scrapyards are getting a solid dollar per pound now.
