I recently got a 14" 30/30 barrel for my Contender. I am thinking of using it only with cast boolets. I am not able to hunt any more so I'm looking to do plinking, paper targets and steel plates at a range of no more than 200 yards. Does anyone have experience with this type of set up? I've looked at a number of moulds and the ones for the M1 carbine look interesting.

Thanks for your consideration.

Having no experence with Lee moulds I can not advise you in that direction.
However, I can offer a Lyman mould or two.
Lyman #311041 and # 311291 are both good boolits that shoot very good in my 30-30 Marlin.:lovebooli

Back when I still had a Super 14 Contender in 30/30, I used the Lee 170 gr. FN GC design. That barrel and boolit combination was extremely accurate.

I used a 10" "Tender" 30-30 for many years in IHMSA shooting. Depenting on how much you intend to shoot, and your time available, there are a few options.
Only shooting 50 rounds or less at a time, I'ld try one of the lee 170-200 gn molds, or the 155gn. designed for the 7.62x39. this one should work well unsized and LLA lubed.
First I'ld check the group buys and vender section for molds availavle from N O E
PM me if you want to discuss feeding your T/C 30-30

I used a Saeco #316 (?), anyway, a 150 grain FN in a 10" Contender for about 5 years. It shot really well for me.

The 30-150-FN RCBS is also a good shooter and almost on the same lines./beagle

Thank for the input. I have some decisions to make.
