I just scored near 2 boxes of once-fired .32 Winchester Special brass at the local range today, thought it was .30-30 until I got it home. Anybody see a problem making .30-30 out of it by sizing it in a .30-30 die and giving it a trim? I know it would have the wrong headstamp and would chamber and fire in a .32 with less than desireable results, but I don't even know anyone who has a .32.

Anyone want to trade me out of them before I commit reloading blasphemy?

Let Corky (Sundog) have first crack at this. He likes head stamps. We have 30-30s to trade. Maybe hold them until you accidentally find more to make the postage cost more valid. ... felix

I'll be glad to swap, postage shouldn't be more than a couple of dollars for 38 cases in a padded envelope, more than worth it to me. I'm not likely to aquire any more of it anytime soon. Ask him give me a shout (PM) if you talk to him before he sees this. BTW the ones I have are all W-W Super.

If all others fail I would trade and pay postage.

Largom, I will if Sundog doen't want it. Give him a few days. I'm glad I posted about it before taking it to the press.

No it won't work. You need to buy a 32 special. Tell your wife I said so.

:bigsmyl2: Thanks for pullling for me!

But unfortunately I have to refer to Gear's rules #12, that's 2,000 rounds of a given pistol caliber and 500 rounds of a rifle caliber as a minimum brass aquisition requiring purchase of gun to fire it. My wife believes a dollar bill is ten inches long, too.

I sized them down for my 30/30, and yes it worked just fine.

For years I went the other way. Sized 30-30 to .32 Special, 25-35, and even 38-55.

Then one day I got a 30-30. Since then I've been collecting brass with the correct head stamp, to prevent the confusion that often invades my dim bulb.:coffee:

I'd go with a trade, etc., to get correct head stamps, or better yet, go with the MT Gianni solution.:bigsmyl2:

Thanks,

.32 WCF is 32-20, not the same thing as .32 Win. Special.

Update, Sundog passed so I'm trading to Larry.

Thanks, all.

Would you please share some more of these rules?

I have been saving brass in several interesting calibers hoping for an excuse to get something they can be used in.

Thanks,

32 WCF is the same as a 32/20. It is the same case as the 218 Bee, and 25/20.

The 32 Spl is on the 30/30 Win case. The 25/35 and 38/55 case are the same also.
