My son in law [cant get used to that!!!:shock:] Took his first deer this evening. He got a nice 5 point. He hand loaded his own ammunition, with my supervision. Bullet was a Lee 170gr FP GC cast of 50/50 alloy lubed with LLA. His rifle is a NEF Handi in 30-06. Load was 40 gr of win 748, cci 200 primer. Nick shot the deer at about 20 yds and the deer NEVER twitched. Dead right there!!!!
It was nice to have helped him load some ammunition with a home cast boolit for his first deer. He was excited for sure.
Now to get my daughter her first. Dear old dad MIGHT get to shoot one this year!!!!
