Promo and "The Load"

Tell me about Promo. From everything that I have read it has the same burn rate as Red Dot, but it bulks lower. Is anyone using Promo in "the load"? Is it harder to hand sight a double charge? How much less bulky is this powder v RD? Thanks much.

Just use it as same grain weight not volume. Works well. As a percent , I am not sure.

It's 'a little less bulk' then RD. When I was dropping charges with my Harrells pistol measure it was only about 2.8% less (2 from 70). It works well in my 45acp.

I contacted Alliant a year or 2 back about "The Load" and Prmo

I had a tec contact me
He would not come out and say it was safe as he claimed there was no oficail pressure testing done

But he told me any Red dot load could be used with Promo weight for weight

And then told me in a round about way that he shot "The Load" in his 8 MM

I have burned well over 2 8 lb jugs of Promo , mainly in the 30-06 and 8 mm Turk
