My 40's vintage K2.5 and late 50's K3 both have 1/2 MOA adjustment. Both scopes reconditioned, w/ new glass and/or coatings and are good to go for another couple of generations.

Weaver K3 is hard to come by. On e-bay a K3 goes for good price. Hard to out bid the guy that wants one. I chose a Lyman All American 3X and am happy with it. I didn't want to pay for the shiny Leupold doesn't match the old Winchester Model 70 I would put it on.

gnoahhh, who reconditioned your scopes? Got a 1X, a 2.5X, and a couple 3Xs that need it. I like old Weavers.

How old? Is it old enough to have external lock rings on the adjustments like the K-2.5 that my .45/70 currently wears? If so, "clicks" mean very little, it's trying to snug down the lockrings and KEEP whatever adjustment you've dialed in that will drive one to drink. (If one wasn't already there!)....Dennis

I not only have an old K3 from the early `60`s, but it sits on my mid-50`s model 70 in .375 H&H. A good match.Robert

It most certainly is! Sounds like a rifle for Africa in it's day. I have a Weaver 440 with Lee dot on a M-54 Winnie in .270 which was "state of the art" in it's day too...Cheers amigo! :drinks:

Thanks all for the help, I too would like to know where to get those old steel weavers serviced. I also have a K2.5x and a older K10 AO with the non centered reticle that need some TLC

BTW Just about how old is that K10 ??

I sent them a 3-9X from the early 70s that wasn't holding zero, got it back good as new. Short turn around, and what I think was a reasonable price to have the old classic rebuilt. About $65.00 including shipping. They're former Weaver factory people from when Weaver was built in El Paso.

Unfortunately they have been out of business for a while. Wish they weren't.
