What current production 45 acp mold is most like the old HG68 200 gr SWC?

Ballisticast #668 is the exact same bullet. They put a 6 in front of all of H&G's styles when they took over.

I have run hundreds of pounds of bullet metal thru H&G 4 cavity #68. Those are dynamite moulds (but quite heavy). If the Ballisticast mould is too pricy for you, the Lee 90348 (2 cavity) or 90310 (six cavity) is a good copy.

Actually the Lyman 452630 is the same bullet as a H&G 68 bb. The 452460 is a good bullet but has a shorter nose than the 452630 or H&G 68. However, the 452630 has a bevel base, and unless you have a Star sizer you would probably be better off with the 452460.

Those numbers are right from Lee's web site. The description is 452-200 swc but the catalog numbers are as I gave...

dale-i didnt mean to stir up a storm but i have found the reason for the discrepancy in our info.when i called attention to the numbers i was looking at a 2003 paper catalog.in that catalog a 90310 is listed as a 6 cav,452-190swc. however,in the 2006 catalog that same mould number is listed as a 452-200swc. i have both catalogs on my desk now and have already noticed a few differences.they have added a few and dropped a few altho both still list 69 moulds.im glad we bumped heads, ill have to take a closer look at the newer catalog tomorrow.

I agree with Beau. We sold lots of the Ballisticast #668's. The real shooters loved them. Ballisti Cast moulds are high but they are great.........Creeker

Boy, would I LOVE to talk to whomever made the decision at Lee's to call two different bullets by the same catalog number. Cheez!!!

Just goes to show, NONE of us can always be right - because the WORLD is trying to screw us up!!

At any rate, you will love the #68, whether it is from the original maker, or from Lee.
