i have 150lbs of ingots from shot, 100lbs of pure lead from scuba weight, and 3.5lbs of pewter.

when casting boolits from the shot ingots, i had to add 2% pewter to get good fill out.

how would i mix these components in to a shootable alloy(in ingot form) and something easily replicated when this batch is used up?

should i just treat the shot ingots as pure lead, and the pewter as tin, and make it a #2 alloy, or a 30:1, etc...

it will be mostly for .40S&W, 10mm, .44mag, and a bit for .30-06, .32acp, .45/70.

Are you going to air cool or oven treat/water drop your bullets? Since shot can have anywhere from 2% to 6% antimony content, it might be hard to guess at what the final BHN would be. You could assume the shot as 2% and work from there to be safe.

The shot ingots will "probably" contain a good amount of antimony and a trace of arsenic ( nesacary ) to form round shot pellets , And harden lead Boolits . You may want to blend a small batch (taking notes) and test for hardness before going to town and melting a large run !

Scuba weights can be made from ANYTHING, even a large amount of zinc. All kinds of scrap so unless you know who made them, you have no idea what metal you have. If it sinks, it is used.
