would a full wad cutter be acceptable for hunting using a revolver?
say a 250-300gr/.44mag for deer/hog?

Troy,
It would probably work at close range. The big problem I see is that historically full wadcutters tend to become unstable shortly after 50 yards.

I shot mule deer doe at 2 yards with a 3.75 Vaquero and 13 of HS 6. She fell over pretty quick. The bullet did suck a bunch of hair into the chest but I dont eat much lung soup.

Oops, forgit to say which boolet. It was Saeco 255 grain wadcutter now discontinued. They will shoot well to just about a hundred yards and then go wild like most very wide nose types.

2 yards? Why did you not just use your knife?

You should have jumped on her and rode her around for while. Then used your knife.

I can't imagine anything wrong with using a full WC for hunting. Gonna cut a
heck of a hole.

Never hunted large game with a WC but they work great on rabbits and tree rats. I've used full wadcutters at moderate velocity in 38 special cases. 44s and 45s might be a bit much for the little critters

WC for hunting?
If you go into it with a bowhunters like mindset I say... "why not"
