YES - In fact I was playing around with it yesterday. I cast some up using Lino and they dropped at .226" @ 47.6gr. avg.. It is an exercise in extremes for me as I usually cast big booits (.452 - .512 from 300 to 580gr). I can cast 11 boolits for the cost of one in my 512. I did my usual Lee ritual (scrub out with toothbrush and brakleen followed by another wash with Kroil). Where the big boolits take forever to cool off these have to be cast alot faster or the mold will cool too much. The mould itself is one the better finished Lee moulds I have ever gotten. To put it into proper perspective along with this mould I ordered a 456220 and it was probably the worst mould that I have gotten from Lee (looked like it was formed with a drill press and grinding wheel). All in all I can't complain, overall they are cheap moulds and cast good boolits.

As far as the Bator mould is concerned It's a keeper. Now I just have to buy another gun to shoot the boolits out of...

Look at the thread .22 Hornet Bator Mold for a bunch of comments on this mold.

I just purchased mine from midsouth - looks like I got the last one until march of 2010. Having never used a Lee 2 cavity before, will either my RCBS, Lyman, or H&G handles fit? Probably a newbie question... Thanks in advance.

The Lee 2 cavity molds come with their own handles. Billy

You might want to check the Lee-menting stickies before the mold arrives. Just in case.

Looks to me like they're still available. I bought mine about two weeks ago, along with the two 8mm moulds. I'll try it out one of these days.

I'd like to see Midsouth enlarge their list, including some .30 Loverins and some .24 - .28 caliber moulds. I have no doubt they'd sell.

Regards,

Stew

Must be getting them in on separate shipments. Earlier today it said the bator's and the 7mm soup can were out of stock. Now they have some. Billy

I just placed an order for the Bator mold. Now I just need everything else to start going for .223. :)

My order is showing shipped, but the mold is back to "on order" again. The folks at Midsouth told me that they had a couple of backorders canceled, so that is why the molds suddenly appeared back in stock last night.

Anyone ever shoot any? I would love to see some 100 yard groups or at least some stories.
