I've been using bullseye exclusively for my 9mm cast lead loads. I'm looking to find a powder that will allow me to get sub 1000 fps velocity while still giving good accuracy like bullseye.

Has anyone used wst, wsf or 231 in 9mm with good accuracy and sub 1000 fps velocity in 9mm?

you don't say what weight of bullet you are using. For sub sonic loads and still work the action you are somewhat stuck with the heavy bullets. WSF and WW231 will work. WST may but I wouldn't know about that one.

It's a 124 gr bullet.

4grs of 231 will get you where you want.
Its what I shot as well. And it will cycle the slide, but not throw the brass very far.

Good accuracy?

d striker,

The best powder I have use in a 9mm is WSF. It does very well with cast boolits from 120grs. to 147grs.

The most accurate 9mm load I have found is:

Lyman 356402 mold.
WW alloy (2 % tin) water quenched.
Boolit sized to .358".
Boolit weight 125gr.
Boolit lube is Carnauba Red.
WSF 4.4gr.
OAL 1.120"
Don't crimp, just remove bell.

I get zero leading and the accuracy is fantastic.

I hope this helps you,

WCK

I tried WST in a 9mm with a 120 gr cast bullet. I tried 3.5 gr. I did not chronograph the load but it did function my Ruger P 89 and gave good accuracy. The load seamed to be a light one.

I have been useing WST in 9mm's for some time now. WST is the powder I use in just about all my cast bullet handgun loads and when I started messing with 9mm I went looking for data and didn't find any. I didn''t want to use something different for just 9mm so I just worked up my own load. I use it for 121gr/130gr/158gr bullets in my 9mm's and they shoot great for me.

I am new to the world of the 9mm luger cartridge.

I have not chronoed any of my loads either.

But in a PF-9 Kel-Tec I have been using the Lee TL Truncated 124 gr. shooting as cast (twice ran in thinned LLA) and tried a few powders. Most notable was WSF .......

I wanted slower than SAMMII but still full function.

My WSF did not quite satisfy me on function at the slow end and then I tried SR 7625 (got KEG that's old and needs using up)

Good results thus far.
