...............It's a bitty 3" rotary table :-) It's quite well made too.

It's horizontal and vertical capable. The table is carried in a suitably wide bearing. The perimeter of the table on the underside is also ground, and it is fully supported as it rides on the ground top of the body casting. It's a pretty snazzy little dude, ha.

It actually zeros out! The collar is in 1/4 degrees, but no vernier scale for anything finer. The knob has only 1/2 degree play. According to the little sheet of instructions the worm gear is silicone bronze. Natually I had to take it apart and I was very impressed with it. Turning the rotating knob to check, it is correctly calibrated as one complete rotation will have each succeding 10 degree mark line up correctly all the way around the table.

The box had a blue ink stamp on it of "India". I think I'd almost rather have something made in China then India but danged if this little rotab isn't a neatly and cleanly made unit. I have no immediate need for it, and none foreseen in the future either. However it was so appealing I went ahead and bought it. Now I get to make some weensy widdow 'T' nuts and clamps for it :-)

If it was just a little smaller you could make a belt buckle out of it!

Better not badmouth India, next time you ask about your bank statement on the phone you'll be talking to someone there: and they might read this forum!!

Buckshot, Since you do not have a need for this little jewel, you could send it to me! I don't have a need either, BUT I will think of something.

Buckshot,

You're right it is cute. I was going to make a small rotary table about that size for mini projects, but never got around to it. Maybe with one that size I could make bucket full of "round tooit's" so I would get more done.

Now, every time I put my eighty pound 10" rotary on the mill I'll think how nice it would be to have one like that for little projects.

I have never seen on that small but if I did I would grab it up in a heartbeat. I recently picked an 8" h/v rotab that had never been used, still loaded with a cosmoline type substance. Cleaned up nicely, not a mark on it. Hope to put it to use soon.

..........Yes I'm a tool junkie, and my very special downfall is endmills. I suppose every tool nut has a particular itch? :-) I got it at Harbor Freight, and the price almost 'Matured me up" at $85, but I failed the test and bought it.
