I'm thinking of switching from tumble lube with Rooster Jacket to a lube/sizer and was wondering about how many bullets you guys are getting from those little sticks.
Thanks,
jason

With large caliber BPC type boolits I get very close to 400 done with one fill up of the sizer (RCBS).
One stick is not a fill up. I think it takes about 1.75 sticks to fill up. I pour mine full to speed things up. That way you dont have to remove the plunger put in a stick then squish it down take out the plunger put in another stick squish it down yada yada yada.

Depends on the size of the boolit, number and depth of the lube grooves and if you are going to fill them all.

45 acp I"ll get around 500 then double that for 357 bullets. I've 44 caliber bullets like the Lee 200gr rnfp that take very little lube to 255gr Kieth type that sop it up.

I size around 1000. Boolits are RN same lube groove size as many SWC and TC!

Since you're concerned with economy, you need to investigate LARS' products....link at bottom of the page. His stuff is 1/3d to 1/2 the price of others' and just as good....if not better. PLUS he's one of us.

GAR in New Jersey had some good stuff "in the day," but they have been out of business awhile. I just found a baggie of their 50/50 sticks that I bought before 1995.

I second LAR's products whole heartedly. His lubes are all I'm using now.

In the 22's, you get a whole bunch o' boolits before changing. Yesterday I sized my Lyman 457125, a 525 grain beauty with four wide and deep lube grooves. To get 'em all filled up I had to crank the pressure before the boolit went down and then again while it was still there! I doubt I'll get 300 per stick with that dog.

Definitely check out WHiteLabel lubes (LAr's), great product for an incredible price. I can get 600-1200 bullet per stick depending on bullet size & # of grooves.

I'm with everyone else who uses Lars loob. I buy 10 - 20 sticks of BAC at a time and in the long run it is cheaper for me than to make my own.

One stick of LARs BAC fills 1,200 bullets ,45 acp one groove.saeco #67 mold ,no mistake,I counted them in two different sittings trying to find out my cost for each round.

That's a bit like asking how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop.

When I lube the 429-421 with round bottom lube groove the lube goes quick!

Seems like I never run out of lube on 22's, and like I am always running out on
44's, and on 458's.

Thanks for asking that question.

I have been wondering the same thing for over 50 years but could never figure it out.

Every time I tried to record the bullet count, I lost the paper before I finished the stick.

I buy my lube from Masscaster, a sponsor in this forum. Jeffs a good guy and reasonable. You can get a LOT of bullets lubed per stick. So many that economy isn't even a consideration.

you get more when using solid sticks than the hollow ones.
i think you can do like the deficit on 22's.
i have a couple of square grooved two-three lube grooved boolits that must have a hollow core or sumthin but i still get 400 or so from a stick.
at 1.65 a stick or from mostly free home made 3 buck a lb beeswax the cost is still negligable
a hundred at 1.65 is still only 1.65 cents each or .040 for 400.
