Hey,
I came to work on Thursday and had a cool whip container of boolits setting on my desk:-D
A fellow that works for us used to cast and no longer has a .44 so I got the extra fruit.
He has some weird hours and I only see him once a month or so and would like to start loading these.
I did some searching and didn't find any load info for the 260 grain gas check .
I have A2400 and unique on the shelf, anyone have some load info using either powder?
I'll being shooting them out of a .44 mag. SBH 10.5" SS
Any mold info would be great also.
Thanks,
W

It looks like the 429244 Ray Thompson boolit design to me. Lyman handbooks and any manual should have a ton of data for this.

Just "GOOGLE" 44 mag load data and as MT-G said most loading manuals will list loads with their jacketed bullets, Hornady still lists data for their 265 gn. bullet .
Both powders you list will work very well.
Remove yor cylinder and see if these bullets are a tight, push or loose fit going through the clyinder throat.

Thanks for the info.
The Lyman casting book doesn't show a GC on the 429244 so that is what thru me, I see on the Lyman mold chart that it shows the 429244 as a GC.
Cyl. fit is not loose or tight, just a slight push.
Thanks again.

I have the 429244 Lyman......excellent boolit. Good start loads would be 18 grs. Alliant 2400 or 9 grs. of Unique.

I've been shooting that bullet over 22g W296/H110 with a WLP for 20+ years. Sweet load.

If you've only got 2400 and Unique, that'll work too.

I just shot a bunch last weekend using 11.5 grains of Unique. It was very accurate--I used aluminum gas checks made with a Freechex tool---

The stats are as follows...

Ruger Superblackhawk------1,250 FPS MV

S & W Model 29---------------1,188 FPS MV

USRA Mo 94--------------------1,491 FPS MV

I shoot a bullet that drops around 260gr. with 10.5 grs. of Unique. It works well in my Ruger.
