An old friend of mine has a Remington model 4 that was his Dad's and would
like to have a few shells for it-even if it's only 2 or 3. Anyone have any laying
around or know where some are at ? It's a .32 Rimfire ctg.

Thanks Very Much

Gunbroker also has small lots from time to time as well, but be prepared, the shells sell for $1.50-$2 each in boxes, singles will be more.

Also make sure if he's going to shoot it to have it checked out, it's not a strong cartridge, but they did tend to shoot loose, especially the Take-down versions.

Neat little guns though, I'm working on converting one to CF and either 32 S&W or 32 S&W long (loaded lightly) I just wish mine had a decent barrel on it :(

NoZombies- you can get a liner for 32-20 that will work fine for the 32 S&W.
I made a Crescent RB into a 32 S&W using a 308 barrel and it shot fine. It was a solid frame and the same size as the Rem. #4

John Taylor:

I've looked at the liners, but I'm thinking I might just get one of the wilson air-gauged barrels, and fit that, seems like by the time I'm done, it'll be about the same money, and probably as good, or better a shooter.

Maybe next year... way too many projects going right now!

My .32 solid-frame Remmy #4 roller only had the FP converted to CF for me to be able to shoot commercial .32 Short Colt ammo (currently made by Winchester) in it.

It made an impressive small game rifle/woodswalker.

The problem with the #4 is the thin action. A proper looking barrel has to have a breech end only a little over 3/4" wide. Green Mtn makes a suitable replacement.

My #4 is converted to 32 S+W long. The FP is a fairly easy change and the bore (about .310) was good with .311/12 boolits. I wouldn't try lining one unless it was shot. And make sure you use a piloted drill and some care. I hurried and ruined my barrel. The liners are .500 OD and you use a 13MM drill bit. That leaves a very thin barrel, very, very thin.

Not a 32rf, but a 22. Here is mine with a Green Mtn barrel. Good barrels. This one will do half inch 50yd groups

Here's a cheaper option for the green mountain barrel:

http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productnumber=491891

I'll be getting one when I place my next order with them or Numrich, as the prices are within $2-3 so it'll depend on which one I order from next...

No Zom- Why? A few more dollars and you can get a proper octagon barrel that'll look right. That tube hanging off a #4 will look goofy.

Here's the ones I was speaking of- http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/catalog.aspx?catid=pistolcalibercenterfirebarrels
