357 Whitetail load out of a rifle

What is your favorite 357 Whitetail load out of a rifle? Id like to hunt deer with my 1894C this year and am looking for some experianced load suggestions. What have been your experiances, both positive and bad.

I have some 158g SWC ready to load....

I have a Win 94, and I like the 360180gr boolit with Lilgun. I dropped a spike with it in the Fall of 2007.

I also used 170gr Speer Flatpoint gold dot bullets and they work well on deer too.

With both I got complete penetration and good performance out to 50 yds. (That all the farther I could see them in the woods. :) )

I would have no problem using the 158gr SWC on the small deer we have around here, would probably make sure it has a decent meplat on it and push it to about 1700 fps if you can. It should work well.

if the swc's run through your levergun.
i'd work them up till accuracy fell off,or you have stupid sight settings on the ramp.
a 158 rnfp and 7 grs herco happens to respond nicely to sight changes in my 92.
one click up for the same sight picture from 50 to 100.

I like bluedot in mine, good for 100 yd accuracy for me. (say 2" group at 100 yds) pleanty good for deer. (well maybe not since I seem to be shooting 'fawns' :D )
