I did about 600 of these last night in a "new" ideal mold I picked up a while back. It cast very well with good bullets from the start. But, when I measured them they are .459 to .460. Do you think they will be ok if I size them to .454? I am going to try it. Alloy was wheelweights with about 2% tin.

Yes, dogdoc, they will size down perfectly. However, I would like to have that mold because of its ability to make a boolit that large. In exchange I will supply funds for you to obtain the 6 banger that should make the 454 diameter. Please advise. ... felix

I have a 452424 two cavity Lyman mould. It has tremendous accuracy, but the boolit is about .691 OAL. This makes it difficult to seat in .45 Colt brass as the nose sticks out so blasted far.

Have to swage these boolits down to a shorter nose shape before being able to shoot them in my Taurus Tracker with its short cylinder.

But they work just fine full length in my S&W 2nd models that are converted to .45 Colt...especially when a slight hollow base is performed on them. The 2nd model guns have .455 barrels.

Great boolit...but a long one.
