I know its Blasphemy here, but... I would like recommendations for where to buy some commercial cast bullets.

Have a Ruger BH 44 Special on the way and am really looking to get back into reloading/shooting/punching holes in paper with a SA! I would like to cast my own, but not enough time to smelt, cast, load and shoot after kids, baseball and the honey-do list! And shooting is the priority over casting.

Here is what I would like to load/shoot:

44 Special - Keith 240
44 Mag - the Keith and a good 265/280/300 grn FP (Ruger SBH)
45 ACP - 200 grn LSWC

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx!

I have bought from Missouribullet.com in the past and found them to be good boolits. The bottom of this page has your 44 special boolits.
http://www.missouribullet.com/results.php?category=5&secondary=12
You can find the rest from there. I still have an unopened box of their 45 colt boolits, 255gr keith.

I think that a couple of members here are commercial casters & offer their wares for sale. Why don't you post in the "want to buy" portion of the Swappin & Sellin section of the board?

This comes up quite a bit. It's no more blasphemy than not making your own primers, cases, powder, etc. :)

Here's some I've had good luck with:

Our own "Bullshop"- very wide variety of possibilities.... links on this site!

Also a member here who sells on Gunbroker. Do seller search for "gutshot_again"
don't know if gutshot_again casts pistol types but his rifle bullets are excellent.

I have used lots of these before I started casting and was very happy with them.

I still have a bunch in bullet sizes I don't cast for.

I used Missouri Bullet before I started casting, and still do from time to time, their prices and service are excellent. IIRC they offer each type of boolit you are interested in, or at least similar ones.

http://www.nsksales.com/ for your 200 SWC. If you need a lot they are running a special orders of 2000.

Missouri bullet is also good.

http://www.keadbullets.com have some bullets from them, they shot excellent.

http://www.pennbullets.com good selection, not exactly fast though.

Sure don't know why you'd want to buy if you intend to shoot a lot. Even cast lead is getting expensive. :(

I do however realize the time and ahm...obsession involved in our hobby so guess I can see it from that aspect.

I second bullshop's stuff. One outfit to avoid is the National Bullet Company in Eastlake Ohio.

Springfield Slim sells bullets. He has a web site under the name of Whyte's Leather. His bullets are designed for BP but will work with the white stuff.

You can't do any better then searching here.
The problem with the large outfits is the lack of choice. Most will be bevel base and under size.
Then they grind up granite for boolit lube! [smilie=1:

here is another one, www.dardascastbullets.com
i was buying these when i decided to cast my own. they work well for plinking, but i think they are to hard to hunt with, unless all you are concerned about is penetration.

Hi,
I've used these guys before, bullets look pretty good and prices were reasonable. Looks like their website is under construction but you could call.

Why would you think it was blasphemy? Buying some to try beats paying for a mold that doesn't work in your application. Some of the commercial casters will even use different alloy options. This site is an excellent source of how-to on casting but it's also pretty good on loading and shooting cast.

I've purchased boolits from Beartooth Bullets http://www.beartoothbullets.com/ on many occations. They are sometimes slow due to high volume of sales but I still prefer to deal with a company that values customer service. They have an excellent product that you order by finished size (I've ordered .429", .430", .431", and .432" for my 44 Magnums. They have 19 different 44 cal boolits).

I found this site and took great interest in the many sizing options. This may be of great use to me as the 44 Spec is a Lipsey Ruger BH 44 Special (not yet in hand). I have a Ruger SBH, bit have not sized the cylinder. Reading the Rugers may like slightly larger diameters. Thanx

Always remember to look close to home as well.

Check out the Vendor Sponsors forum to find some fine commercial cast boolit makers that are part of our community and support the site.
