This is listed in their catalog as MINIE BALL MOULD .500 HODGDON ADJ. Just wondered if this is a good mould/bullet and how it would work in my T/C barrel.

Very old post I know but I was going to ask about this mold, searched and found this.

My Lee mold took a crapper on the second use so I was thinking about an upgrade.

This is the adjustable mould they sold for the Smith carbine etc. IIRC it was .515-.520 Folks could vary the weight of the projectile. Many N-SSA shooters bought them. I don't have any knowledge of them. It may or may not be a true .500

RCBS catalog does list it as .500" diameter. I was curious how it shot in a 1-48" tw. and if it was a pain to use.

.494" isn't going to cut it in a 50. My REAL bullets are dropping at .517". I'm not looking to start paper patching so this may not be for me.
