rem 1100

i have an older rem 1100 20 gauge 3" mag. will it only cycle 3" shells? it doesn't work with 2 3/4". thanks guys

The 3" barrels only work with 3" shells although I have got them to work with the hottest heavy loads in 2 3/4" in a 12 ga . I have not tried in a 20ga ( dont have one). If you can find a 2 3/4" barrel just swap them. The 2 3/4" have 2 gas holes in the barrel ring , the 3" just 1 larger one.

I found with my 1100 3" 12 gau
After the gun was well broken in
It would cycle 2 3/4" shells if loaded at least 1 1/8 oz at 1300 fps or a 1 1/4 oz load at 1275 fps

So I bet if you hand load
You can get it to cycle

did remy have the gas ring that you can flip/remove/change for lighter loads like the early borwning did? ive run into a few off brands that wouldnt cycle and that was the issue.

thanks guys. i loaded up some heavy 1oz 2 3/4"loads and they work good. the rem express loads should work too if i ever run out of shot
