It's that time!! Deer seasons open everywhere. Elk soon! Let's see the pictures and/or hear the hunting tale!! Hunting partners, friends and relatives all qualify.

I haven't scored yet but I hope to soon. This can be the unofficial Cast Boolits "Big Buck - Big Bull Bonanza Contest".... Winners in each category -- Whitetail, Blacktail, Mule Deer as well as Rocky Mountain and Roosevelt Elk get a free trip to hunt Africa or Alaska ... (we wish).

Best "almost got one" story may win a yet to be determined boobie prize..

I guess this thread may have been a bit premature for the whole country. However, all the west coast and many of the Rocky Mountain states have been open for deer for a couple of weeks, and elk season opens this next weekend. I'll be hunting for elk next weekend in Oregon and then back to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to enjoy their opener.

There has been so much snow so early in the west that the deer and elk harvest should be excellent this year. The elk have already started moving out of the higher elevations of the Wallowa Wilderness and Crater Lake National Forests in Oregon. The migration out of the Yellowstone and Teton parks in Wyoming speaks for itself when the heavy snows hit and it is a sight to behold for hunters.

This unusual weather should be a great opportunity for hunters who use cast boolits and I hope everyone who can will be out in the woods or thickets chasing 'um.... I love to see the pictures and hear the stories of hunter success. I think others do too...

What about close calls, tall tales and out right lies?

Read the original post again..... There will be a much sought after award for those categories too!! I expect that award will be the most coveted!! Jack-a-lopes and Pork-u-bucks don't count so don't even try to sneak one of those trophies into the competition....... :)

Jeesh, Beanflip! Couldn't you have waited a year or two until that little buck could grow some decent horns?? It may have qualified for the "Boolit & Crocket" record book by then.....

And jbunny.... If you ever need any help cleaning some of that vermin out of you're area in B.C. I'm only a few hours away.... I want to buy your elk packing setup!!<big, BIG smile>
