Old pic from over the summer. Walked away and came back to find the tower of drips!http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm243/Evansguns/102_2116.jpg

Abstract art at its best!!!!
When I shut down my Lee pot, I turn the spigot screw. I go around, and back and forth. If there is any crud in there, it gets it out of the way of the spout.

I got tired of mine doing that. I welded it shut and turned it into a dip pot.

So, would that be a Stalactite or Stalagmite, or a hermaphrodite.

when mines drip, i stick the end of a paperclip in there to break free the junk in there. remove it and it should stop.

I have a few of those.

The paper clip up the nozzle works great to prevent this.

I fixed mine with a roofing nail.

The Lee pots are really a dipping kit.

Add your own nail, remove the redundant pouring tackle and away you go.

Thats how I made mine into a worthwhile casting tool. :D

My Lee 10lb pot dripped a lot the first few times I used it, but now for some reason it's sealing much better.

Never did get any cool sculptures though!

I had the same thing happen. Some annoying drippage at first but it stopped on it's own after a while. Then I had to buy a thermometer. How do you know your Lee bottom pour is ready? When it starts to drip!:kidding:

The only thing worse then a drippy Lee bottom pour is a plugged Lee bottom pour.

Ain't much of a bottom pour if it won't pour.

Exactly convert it into a dipping pot and you have one that works, leave it as a pourer and at best you have a pot that half works

That drip helps to line up the mold > I made mine drip by running the screw on top up some .I do have a drip but I can line mold up and when done, set a ingot mold under it

Greetings
I have 2 ... they both used to drip non stop. I followed the advice of a member here and took the handle unit apart, removed the spigot & lapped the spigot in the pour spout.
I also added some lead wheights on the handle stem.
Result : NO more drips. Well maybe one or two in an hour. It is well worth the 10 minutes it took to lap (I used fine valve grinding compound) .

if any of you had machanical ability you would fix it some did by lapping.if you pluged it up you lack ability.most put a weight on the rod.you might put a light spring on handle.but lapping would seem the best.

EMC-45, just add some weight.
I do not own a LEE.
I have a Lyman 20 and I had a drip
problem.
So I cleaned the nozel and the stop.
Then I added a little weight to the handle.
Now it only drips when it gets a piece of
crud in the nozel.
Then I just use the paper clip method.:Fire:
