What should I use to cut sprue from Musket balls?

I just got a Pedersoli Brown Bess and .730 Jeff Tanner mold and want to begin casting.

What device should I use to trim the sprue and is there a good place to find one cheap?

tumtatty just get you a set of the cheap side cutters the ones from lowes ,home depot , or and auto parts store that you find in the dollar bin will do fine the medium size should work ok

Iron Mule is right.
I find if I cast at a hot enough temperature, many of the sprues will break off as the boolits are dropped from the mold.

side cutters as been posted and i grind the outside so there is no bevel
to the cutting edge. that way they will cut flush.

Got a set from Jeff When I ordered my mold. He dose a minie side cutter that is ground as stated by JB. I have a friend that uses a heavy duty toenail cliper it has a natural curve to it. he says it works great.

Like everybody else, I got some cheap side cutters from the dollar bin and ground a curve on 'em. work great.

Go to doit molds, they have cutters made to cut sprues.

There is a blade attachment for those Weller brand soldering guns that works pretty good too.
