looking for a light plinker load using imr4227 (have lots of it)
200 lee rnd flat
oh ya........44mag:veryconfu
900-1000fps is the goal
can this be done with this powder?
any thoughts on gharge weight?
was not sure if this powder would act like 296/h110
dont need any squib loads!

Not a problem. Look for .44 Spl load data using 4227, and bump the charge up 10% to compensate for the added volume of the magnum case. Light 'em up! :D

With an H&G #503 250-255 grains, I use an old Keith loading of 17-18 grains that was listed for the 44 Special. I don't recall the MV, but there is enough whomp in it for me. Its also accurate, delivering one inch groupds off the bench at 25 yards. The powder is very flexible and if you want top performance all you have to do is load up to 23 grains (a load from the Old Dupont loading tables) and you'll have it. LLS

Anywhere from 15 to 25gr will work. You can go from a pop to a BOOM.
