I recently bought a box of old reloading & casting tools at a garage sale. Inside I found a Lee C429-240SWC mold. I don't have any GCs for .429 bullets & the cost of buying them is more than I want to spend.

My question is; Can I use these bullets without the GCs? Are there any potential problems?

If I do load them, I plan to keep them below 1200fps (or should I stay lower?). They will be used for mild-moderate .44mag loads.

It's a nice single cavity mold that I can sell if I don't use it, but would keep it if I can get some use out of it.

Thanks

I have one of those molds. It is OLD. I got it in '80 (I think) when I bought a brand new Ruger Redhawk. At that time they had just come out.
My mold is so old it is a single cavity. Kinda low production, but it gets-er-dun, and I shoot it without GCs for plinking.
Have at it!
And when you want to drive it faster, just add the GC. The boolit is not a stellar performer, but it was OK for me out to 100 yards.

There is a gator check GB going on that is cheaper and great quality.

Ok, I found the GCs and hopefully since I ordered .03-DONATE I'll wind up with some .308 checks? I guess we'll see huh? lol
I've been wanting to try a GB anyway, so it isn't really critical.
