Does anyone cast for this caliber? If so, I need info on molds, load data, etc.

My son recently (this past weekend) got one of those cannons. We put together a few rounds using Alliant 2400 (31 gr.) with a 260 gr. SWCGC. It will get your attention but not as wild as I thought. Try checking Hodgon powder's website and M.D Smith's reloading pages on the web. Otherwise you're going to have to spring for a new handloading manual.

I use a Lee 300gr boolit w/GC sized to 452" and lubed with BAC ahead of 40.0gr 296. Recoil is a little stout but I regularly shoot 500 S&W's. Gives a slight edge over a .454 but not by too much. I've found Lil Gun and 296 to be good powders for this round in my guns.

45 LC is better. If you are going to shoot lead . Take the comp off and soak it in Kroil or something like it . It will make life better when you clean it. I leave it off with the 45 loads
