I shoot a Dan wesson .44 with a 10" bbl and just finnished slugging both the chamber mouths and the bore and I am wondering if there is any insight as to the size I should be lube/sizing to . The cylinder mouths measure .4295/430 and the bore is .429 . Iam currently sizing a rcbs 240 gr. g/c boolit w/w , tin , water quenched and sized to .429 with reasonable acuracy out to 50 yards , but when trying to reach out to the piggies and further the acuracy realy seems to fall off. There doesn't seem to be an extreme amount of leading and acuracy is about the same with all loads that I have tested to date . any ideas would be helpfull .:(

Try .430

size to .430" Use the correct alloy using 6% antimony 2% tin. Air cool. If you feel you must heat tread,/water drop, do it using an oven. Dropping from a mould does not work as well. tin is not needed for heat treating , 2% or more antimony is. With a gas check, and 50/50 alox most any alloy should work. If the gas check comes off in flight, accuracy would suffer.
